About knit crochet stitch play

I am a fibre artist based in Melbourne Australia, who loves to dabble in freeform knitting/crochet and all things fibre. My work springs from a lifelong passion with colour and texture.

I came to fibre arts gradually having been a knitter from a very young age – starting out with knitting clothing for my Barbie doll in the early 60’s, graduating to knitting jumpers and scarves for family and friends.

In recent years, the yearning has been for a more creative, less structured and playful expression; and a workshop with the doyenne of freeform – Prudence Mapstone – as well as a serendipitous encounter with a babylock embellishing machine gave me my license to play.  Since then I have had a lot of fun.

My work is a combination of traditional knitting, freeform knitting, machine knitting and hand and machine felting.

Hello Lynn, I am contacting you through Cath D’arcy from Textile Artistry. I am currently studying a Diploma of Textile Arts at Box Hill Institute and wonder if you would mind answering a few questions about Freeform for a project I am doing? I have prepared an email questionnaire to send if you are willing to give me your email address.
    Many Thanks

  2. Hi, Lynn, would like to talk with you about using a photo of your reef, hope you will reply to my email donnat@syrculturalworkers.com. I am in Syracuse, NY, USA. Thanks! Donna

    1. HI Donna,
Can you let me know a little about what you would use the image for.
This particular part of the reef is a very small part of a much larger reef and I would need to get agreement from the convenor of the Melbourne Satellite Reef Project I think – so she will need details.
      Let me know.
      Regards,
      Lynn Berry

      1. Hi, Lynn, I don’t know how to attach an image to this post. Can you email me donnat@syrculturalworkers.com, and I can respond fully and with an image of what we propose. We also offer payment ($50 US, not much, but still) for use of the image, thanks, Donna
